Experienced distribution professional and keen sailor Chris Feibusch has joined Chemring Marine, the world’s leading marine distress signal company, as sales manager, with responsibility for the UK and Ireland, Southern Europe and the Far East.

Prior to joining Chemring Marine, with its Pains Wessex and Comet brands, Chris carried out various senior sales and distribution roles for leading marine businesses, including Holt-Allen, Lewmar, Halyard Marine Exhausts and CJR Propulsion. Last year, Chris was contracted to write a UKTI / BMF-funded research document on Eastern European marine distribution channels and has just completed a year’s contract with Barrow International helping to develop distribution networks for marine businesses.

Chris says: “I am very pleased to be joining such a highly-regarded and professionally-run company. I have always worked for businesses that are leaders in their respective fields and Chemring Marine is no exception.

“I’m looking forward to developing strong relationships with my distributors and helping them to achieve full potential in their respective markets.”

Chris has always had a passion for boating and is an experienced sailor. His parents were keen sailors, regularly undertaking intrepid cruises in their Wayfarer dinghy around the British coast, sometimes living aboard for up to a week at a time.

“My parents were incredibly safety-conscious, as it’s fairly extreme to have four people, including children, in such a small boat on the open sea. It’s fair to say that safety and good seamanship were always a priority.”

Chris still has a Wayfarer at Hayling Island Sailing Club and owns a half-share in an RS800. He recently took part in the European championships, finishing a creditable 12th place out of 52 competitors.

He and his wife, Maria, have two daughters, Clara (11) and Hannah (9).
