Sales manager Holger Muegge, from the world’s top marine distress signal company Chemring Marine, has provided vital marine safety advice at top German show, Boot Düsseldorf.
As well as meeting Chemring Marine distributors and customers at last month’s event, Holger told boaters visiting the stand of marine safety manufacturers’ organisation FSR (Fachverband Seenot-Rettungsmittel) of the importance of carrying marine distress signals.
Among those seeking tips on the safe use and storage of marine distress signals were members of sailing and yachting schools, marine authorities and boaters. In Germany, marine distress signals are recommended rather than mandatory. Last year, Boot attracted, around 240,000 visitors.
Holger, pictured above right, says, “Attendance was better than in previous years and dealers were carefully optimistic. Boot is one of the world’s major marine shows.”
Chemring Marine is a founder member of FSR, which represents manufacturers and importers of life-saving and rescue equipment for ocean shipping, inland waters shipping and leisure shipping. It aims to:
- answer all questions about life-saving and rescue equipment
- assist other committees in answering questions on criteria for quality and safety so that actions can be carried out in accordance with the latest state of technology
- ensure that member companies using a voluntary self-test comply with the highest standards of quality and safety for the production and sales of life-saving and rescue equipment
