This two-day basic course, conducted in Finnish, covers oil and chemical tanker cargo operations. Day one consists of theoretical training conducted on-site at Aboa Mare in Turku. Day two focuses on practical firefighting training at Meriturva Maritime Safety Training Centre in Upinniemi, Finland.
The course is intended for officers, ratings, and engine crew working on tanker vessels. This course covers the requirements set by STCW and IMO Model Course 1.01.
Upon completing this training, the participant will:
- Understand common safety tasks on oil and chemical tankers
- Be familiar with safety procedures and risk handling onboard oil and chemical tankers
- Know how to handle oil and chemical products
- Be prepared to act in emergency operations onboard
- Be able to take part in cargo handling operations on oil and chemical tankers
