Northrop Grumman Corporation has announced that Jeanne Usher has been named managing director of the company’s Sperry Marine business unit, effective immediately.
Usher succeeds Alan Dix, who recently retired following a distinguished career with the company spanning 33 years.
In her new position, Usher will have responsibility for all Sperry Marine’s commercial and defence programmes and products worldwide.
With its headquarters in New Malden, the Sperry Marine business unit operates in more than 15 countries and is a leading global provider of navigation solutions, including radars, compass systems, steering, speedlogs, and integrated bridge and control systems.
Usher joined Northrop Grumman in 1981 and has held a number of leadership positions in strategy, market development, supply chain and programme management.
Most recently, she served as deputy managing director for Sperry Marine. Usher received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
She has also completed the general management programme at Harvard University and the executive marketing strategy programme at the University of Maryland.
