Spectro Scientific’s extensive product offerings include: spectrometers for wear metal analysis, lubricant degradation and contamination, particle analysis instruments and complete turnkey systems for oil or fuel analysis laboratories, all managed by the SpectroTrack software platform.
Transportable fluid analysis system
The Q5800 Expeditionary Fluid Analysis System is a multi-purpose portable analysis measurement tool, combining abnormal wear metals analysis, particle counting, viscosity, and IR spectroscopy into a compact transportable system.
As a rugged, portable expeditionary fluid analysis system, the Q5800 gives operators in the field the ability to perform comprehensive, mobile lubricant sampling. The battery-powered device enables complete lubricant assessment for condition monitoring and rapid results for informed oil maintenance decisions.
The system includes four modules that measure Fluid Chemistry, Viscosity, Particle Count and Elemental Analysis using the FluidScan Q1000 infrared spectrometer, SpectroVisc Q3000 kinematic viscometer, Filtration Particle Quanitifier (FPQ) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) technology, all in a portable tool.
Oil infrared and viscosity analysis kit
The combination kit, containing the FluidScan infrared spectrometer and the SpectroVisc kinematic viscometer, offers viscosity and lubricant properties for field monitoring with immediate feedback on critical oil analysis properties. This kit supports asset managers who need accurate, lab grade oil condition information for time-sensitive maintenance decisions. Both units are light-weight, portable, easy to use and solvent-free.
The FluidScan Q1000 is a handheld spectrometer with patented, direct infrared technology to provide a quantitative measurement of a fluid’s condition. The FluidScan is ideal for TAN or TBN analysis, contamination and additive depletion by infrared spectroscopy.
The kinematic viscometer is designed for remote field-use when the immediate lubricant kinematic viscosity measurement is required. The multi-language unit is controlled at 40°C.
Machine fluid analysis spectrometer
The Spectroil Q100 is a emission spectrometer that analyses wear metals, additives and contaminants in machinery fluids (oil, fuel, cooling and washdown water). Results are obtained in less than 30 seconds with minimal operator training and no sample preparation. The Spectroil Q100 has a small footprint for fixed laboratory sites.
Spectro Scientific’s Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) technology is a robust, proven spectroscopic technique designed to simultaneously analyse wear, additives and contaminants in mineral or synthetic petroleum-based products, compliant with ASTM D6595 and D6728.
Bench-top particle detector
The LaserNet Fines Q200 is a bench-top analytical tool that combines particle size analysis, particle counting and dynamic viscosity in one instrument. The SpectroLNF Q200 analyses hydraulic and lubricating oil samples from equipment and machinery that are part of a machine condition-based monitoring programme.
The monitoring is based on the morphological analysis and the particle size distribution of the abnormal wear particles that are created from the internal components of the machine. The operator is presented with an assessment of particles found in the fluid sample and a history of previous results for the same equipment.
As a particle counter, the Q200 processes and stores thousands of images to obtain statistics. As a viscometer, the LNF Q200 provides dynamic viscosity of the sample, if desired, at the same time as it performs a particle count and particle classification.
Lubricant, fluid, coolant and fuel particle detector
Spectro Scientific’s T2FM Q500 Analytical Ferrography Laboratory is a complete analytical system for the separation and interpretation of wear and contaminant particles in used lubricant oils, hydraulic fluids, coolants and fuels. It consists of the T2FM ferrogram maker, a bichromatic microscope, video camera and image capture software.
The T2FM Q500 measures rapidly as a sample is pumped through plastic tubing before reaching the ferrogram surface. The T2FM Analytical Ferrography Laboratory delivers the entire sample and all the particles contained therein onto the ferrogram surface. Every ferrogram is given a crystal clear rinse each time. There are no last minute drips of oil sample onto the ferrogram, leaving distracting halos around the particles when viewed under the microscope.
Engine oil fuel contamination detector
The FDM Q600 ‘fuel sniffer’ is a portable fuel dilution meter that can be used in the laboratory or the field to provide rapid and accurate measurements of fuel contamination in engine oil. Excessive fuel in the lubricant causes wear and loss of performance. Developed in collaboration with the US Navy, the FDM Q600 portable dilution meter is widely used for rapid detection of fuel contamination.
