High-performance, readily biodegradable lubricants and cleaners specialist RSC Bio Solutions recently announced the addition of Richard Day as market manager for Europe and the opening of a warehouse facility in Rotterdam, Netherlands, a major expansion to serve the marine and offshore oil and gas industries’ needs in the European Union (EU).
Richard Day brings more than 30 years of experience in the oil and specialty chemicals industries, holding senior-level positions throughout the UK and overseas. Most recently, he served as commercial and operations director at Vickers Oils. His responsibilities in other previous positions included leading the development of Lubrizol’s European polymer business; serving as general manager of Lubrizol’s UK manufacturing facility; and managing Lubrizol’s joint-venture operation in Saudi Arabia. In these roles, Day worked closely with internal technical, operational, sales and business development groups to achieve growth within UK and international customer accounts.
In addition to the hiring of Day, the warehouse facility in Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port, will facilitate the distribution of RSC Bio Solutions’ EnviroLogic® line of lubricants, hydraulic fluids and gear oils designed for oil and gas, and marine applications.
This expansion in the EU affirms RSC Bio Solutions’ commitment to worldwide partnerships and collaborations. RSC Bio Solutions’ European market strategy is evidenced by a commercial partnership with Netherlands-based AEGIR-Marine for stern-tube lubricants and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) approvals from worldwide marine power solution supplier Wärtsilä and Rolls Royce, which recently approved EnviroLogic® 3068 as an environmentally-acceptable lubricant (EAL) for use in its marine stabiliser line.
RSC Bio Solutions CEO Mike Guggenheimer said: "Relationships with several global marine customers and partners have demonstrated there is an increasing demand in the European market for EnviroLogic products, which meet a wide range of environmental regulations and help reduce the risks associated with lubricant discharges.
"Our Rotterdam warehouse, supported by Richard’s experience and expertise in the technical and commercial sectors, will enable us to more efficiently deliver EnviroLogic products to our EU marine and oil and gas customers."
For industries using lubricants, cleaners and absorbents that want to reduce their total cost to operate and risk of injury or harm to their employees or the environment, RSC Bio Solutions provides a complete range of high-performing chemistries and specialty products that extend the life of equipment and tools, while meeting or exceeding the performance of petroleum-based products.
