The Celebrity Eclipse is the third Solstice series vessel of Celebrity Cruises, a cruise operator based in the US and a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group.
The Celebrity Eclipse was built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The keel laying took place at the yard’s building dock II in January 2009. Launched in February 2010, the ship was delivered in April 2010.
Celebrity Eclipse is the sister ship of the Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Equinox, which entered service in 2008 and 2009, respectively. It embarked on her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, in April 2010.
Celebrity Eclipse Design and features
The Celebrity Eclipse spans 1,041ft (317m) in length, with a beam width of 121ft (36.8m) and a draught of 27ft. It has a gross tonnage of 121,878t and a cruising speed of 24 knots.
The vessel has a total of 16 decks and accommodates up to 2,852 guests in double occupancy and a crew of 1,286.
Celebrity Cruises offers a range of autism-friendly initiatives, including sensory-friendly films, toys, and dietary menu options, as well as a variety of autism-friendly products and services.
For guests with visual impairments, the cruise experience is made accommodating with the provision of Braille signage in public areas and lifts. Sign language interpreting services are available for deaf guests who use ASL
Accommodation facilities
The cruise ship features a range of accommodations. This includes the Retreat, which offers a series of luxurious accommodations such as the Penthouse suite with 1,291ft² of space and a 389ft² veranda.
The Royal Suite features 590ft² of space and a 153ft² veranda. The Celebrity Suite provides 394ft² of living area and a 105ft² veranda while the Aqua Sky Suite and Sky Suite both offer 300ft² of space and a 79ft² veranda.
AquaClass on the Solstice Series offers 192ft² of living space and a 54ft² private veranda, among other amenities.
Concierge Class Staterooms on the Solstice Series, feature 192ft² of space with a 54ft² veranda, along with premium amenities and personalised service. The Millennium Series provides 209ft² of living space and a 42ft² veranda, creating a private sanctuary with dedicated concierge service to enhance the guest experience.
Veranda Staterooms come in three categories, notably the Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda, the Edge Single Stateroom with Infinite Veranda, and the Edge Sunset Veranda Stateroom, as well as the Deluxe Porthole View with Veranda.
The Ocean View Staterooms consist of the Panoramic Ocean View Stateroom and the Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom. The Inside Staterooms are available in two categories, namely, the Deluxe Inside Stateroom and the Inside Stateroom.
Celebrity Eclipse dining and bar venues
The Main Restaurant presents a spacious and modern dining experience, boasting a varied menu that includes both timeless classics and innovative dishes inspired by regional flavours.
The Spa Cafe features a selection of wholesome dining choices while the Oceanview Cafe offers an array of international tastes within a setting reminiscent of a bustling marketplace.
The cruise ship features an array of specialty restaurants such as Le Petit Chef, with 3D table animations by Skull mapping. Murano features traditional French cuisine with a contemporary flair while Tuscan Grille infuses Italian dining with a modern twist. Sushi on Five presents an updated take on classic Japanese dishes.
Exclusive restaurants include Blu, which serves fresh and bold flavours solely to AquaClass guests, and Luminae at The Retreat, which offers avant-garde and globally inspired cuisine exclusively to The Retreat’s patrons.
The Bars & Lounges include Cafe al Bacio & Gelateria, Ensemble Lounge, Martini Bar & Crush and the World Class Bar.
Cellar Masters provides an extensive collection of international wines while Slush offers a variety of refreshing frozen cocktails made with fresh ingredients by the pool. Also available onboard are The Passport Bar, the Pool & Mast Bar and the Sunset Bar.

The ship features an impressive array of attractions, including an art gallery, renowned shopping brands, professional photo studios, a range of sports activities, and lively casinos.
The Spa offers more than 120 treatments, including unique destination-inspired treatments that reflect the essence of different locales.
Additionally, visitors can look forward to three theatre shows, namely Amade, Rock City, and Topper.
