SolarisTech, a maritime and offshore industry consultancy firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Solas Modu, a marine services provider, to enhance maritime innovation in India, and the nation's shipbuilding competitiveness globally.
The partnership combines SolarisTech's expertise in regulatory compliance, advanced analytical tools, and professional training with Solas Modu's capabilities in marine services, surveys, certifications, survival systems, turnkey contracting, and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT).
The two companies will work together to "offer state-of-the-art, integrated solutions designed to meet the changing needs of the maritime industry worldwide".
By merging Solas Modu's engineering and inspection knowledge with SolarisTech's regulatory and compliance acumen, the partnership aims to support local shipbuilding projects with advanced engineering and inspection services.
This ensures compliance with international maritime standards and drives innovation and quality in the country’s equipment manufacturing industry.
Solas Modu CEO Bikram Jena said: “Our collaboration with SolarisTech not only strengthens our global presence but also aligns with our vision to support the maritime ecosystem in India and beyond. Together, we’re building a future where safety, compliance, and engineering excellence are paramount.”
The partnership also extends specialised engineering services to shipyards in North Asia, including South Korea and Japan.
SolarisTech and Solas Modu will provide tailored engineering solutions for new builds and retrofits, advanced inspection and compliance services, and innovative technologies to optimise operational efficiency for vessels under construction.
SolarisTech CEO Thomas Blenk said: “By supporting India’s shipbuilding growth and expanding our offerings to North Asia, SolarisTech and Solas Modu are creating synergies that will benefit shipowners, operators, and manufacturers worldwide.”
