US-based supply chain management platform e2open has partnered with Scottish-based logistics company AFS Logistics with the aim of helping shippers adapt to price fluctuations across the supply chain.

AFS Logistics’s platform works through the detection of invoice errors and currently performs at a 20% invoice error rate on average and recovers savings of up to 8% on each invoice.

According to AFS, through this collaboration, the companies can provide shippers with cutting-edge technology and extensive data, as well as the knowledge to put it to use while extracting vital logistical insights.

AFS Logistics chief channel development officer Dean Jones emphasised the pricing adaptations given to ship operators: “Shippers face a logistics landscape with various shocks and disruptions that can threaten service continuity and apply major pressure on tight margins.

“Our collaboration with e2open helps us further equip shippers to adapt to pricing and capacity fluctuations and keep freight moving efficiently.”

The e2open products included in the partnership are its ocean booking platform, container management solutions and equipment management system, among others.

e2open general manager Antoine Wade added: "At e2open, we are committed to providing our customers with the most comprehensive and integrated solutions for managing their supply chains.

"Our TMS offerings exemplify this and working with AFS further enables shippers to optimise their logistics operations.”

Founded in 2000, e2open has paved the way in the maritime sector through partnerships with various shipping and freight operators, including MSC, Seacon and Air Canada.
