Israel-based maritime AI company Windward has partnered with US-based AI firm Dataminr to integrate real-time alerting capabilities into its maritime platform.
This collaboration aims to provide customers with advanced tools for proactive response to maritime and global events before they escalate.
The partnership will see Windward integrate Dataminr’s real-time AI insights into its Maritime AI platform to offer enhanced critical information.
With Dataminr’s real-time AI, Windward’s platform is expected to deliver timely insights to help stakeholders anticipate and address risks effectively.
Leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Foundation Models, Dataminr’s AI provides comprehensive event detection and description.
Windward co-founder and CEO Ami Daniel said: “By integrating Dataminr’s extensive data sources and advanced AI, we’re empowering our users with a customised flow of information that provides the situational awareness needed to make informed, proactive decisions.

Dataminr’s real-time AI is said to be a key component of Windward’s new AI and Generative AI-based solution, Early Detection, which is designed to proactively identify anomalies at sea.
Combined with Windward’s Generative AI virtual analyst MAI Expert, Early Detection provides early event identification, context, and actionable recommendations for commercial and government stakeholders.
This integration is tailored to various customer profiles, from commercial shippers to logistics coordinators, delivering pertinent insights for operational impact.
Windward’s system filters information by company, brand, topics, keywords, location, and priority, ensuring users receive data tailored to their specific needs, thereby boosting decision-making and operational flexibility.
Dataminr chief partner officer Matthew Harrell said: “Windward’s work with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to bring AI-powered real-time alerting to Early Detection underscores the value in Dataminr’s AI Platform and demonstrates acceleration to market for partners implementing our APIs with AWS.”
In April 2024, Windward revealed the continuing depth of disruptions faced by the global shipping trade with the Red Sea still dominating negative trends.
