Marine fuel provider Titan LNG has introduced a development tender of a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering barge.
Named Titan Krios, the vessel will boost the supply of LNG in the ports of Zeebrugge and the English Channel.
The company stated that the initial delivery is expected to be completed in 2023.
Krios will utilise several tanks for separating the streams of LNG and bio-LNG, a carbon-neutral fuel generated from biological waste streams.
With the help of existing infrastructure, bio-LNG can be stockpiled and supplied, before being mixed with LNG and used along with current engine technology.
In addition, the new vessel will cater to the primary demands in Zeebrugge which the company already supplies.

By GlobalDataKrios will have a capacity of 4,200m³ and a compact vessel design that will provide low air draught, a small footprint and high manoeuvrability.
The vessel will be loaded with two bow thrusters and cargo conditioning equipment, as well as other facilities.
Germany-based HB Hunte engineering has provided the design of the vessel.
Titan LNG marine commercial director Michael Schaap said: “As demand for LNG, and increasingly bio-LNG, accelerates, ensuring the right infrastructure and supply is in place for our customers is essential.
“LNG is the only fuel choice available today which offers immediate and long-term benefits to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and a clear pathway to achieving decarbonisation targets.
“With the new Krios joining our expanding fleet, we will continue our efforts to enable a more sustainable future for shipping through global accessibility to LNG, bio-LNG and eventually clean LNG produced from green hydrogen.”
In March, the FlexFueler002 bunkering barge was christened and launched. It was jointly built by Titan LNG and gas infrastructure group Fluxys.
Currently, Titan LNG owns two FlexFuelers, namely Hyperion and the Green Zeebrugge.
