South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has implemented the Tideworks graphical planning solution at Port of Charleston, US.
Named Spinnaker, the graphical planning solution has been deployed at the Port of Charleston’s Wando Welch and North Charleston terminals.

This is the second deployment of the company’s terminal operating systems within SCPA’s network and the first phase of the Port of Charleston project.
Every stevedore in the port complex has been given access to the system’s platform in this first phase of the Charleston project, enhancing process visibility.
Deployment of the company’s terminal operating solution (TOS) will allow SCPA to handle increasing container volumes.
Additionally, the solution will offer exhaustive graphical planning that will allow the port to cut turn times.

By GlobalDataSCPA information technology director Stephen Rauch said: “We are pleased to have successfully completed phase one implementation of the Tideworks’ TOS solution that will enhance planning and operations at our marine terminals.
“The port is experiencing strong growth, and the addition of Tideworks’ solutions will support our ability to efficiently handle increased cargo volumes over the long term.”
The second phase of the project will involve the deployment of Tideworks’ next-generation TOS Mainsail, and traffic control.
It is expected to begin later this year and will include the deployment of the Terminal View 3D data visualisation system, Tideworks Insight and Advent Intermodal Solutions’ eModal port community platform.
The company is delivering all the associated implementation services for SCPA, including project management, software configuration and installation, and integration services.
As part of the contract, Tideworks will offer ongoing maintenance and support services, including round the clock technical support and regular software upgrades.
