By GlobalDataThe hull design, featuring the patented F-bow, has been tailored to suit the vessel’s dimensions and operational requirements, taking into account various draughts and sea conditions.
The tanks will be MARINELINE coated, capable of handling 11 grades of cargo and will have ICE CLASS 1A certification.
The vessels, which follow the success of Saturnus and Mercurius, will feature lower fuel consumption and advanced low emission technologies.
They will be equipped with a hybrid battery system of 420kWh for peak shaving, benefiting both the main engine and auxiliary engines.
Additionally, a shore power system of 1,000kW will enable zero-emission loading and discharging operations in ports.
The estimated Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) of the vessels will be 40% below the 2025 Phase III requirements.
Designed in collaboration with FKAB Marine Design, the vessels will provide the highest levels of sustainability, efficiency, and safety, according to the company.
With this latest order, Sirius now has a total of six vessels on order including two 15,000dwt vessels scheduled for delivery in 2026.
