US-based maritime antenna designer Shakespeare Marine has announced the opening of a new distribution centre in Shanghai, China, by Q1 2024.

According to Shakespeare Marine, the distribution centre which will be operational by January 1, 2024, places the company as the ‘world’s first’ antenna manufacturer to secure warehouse space spanning Europe, America and Asia.

The new hub will also allow the manufacturer to increase sales across its Asia and Australasia regions.

Mark Ye, manager of the new Shakespeare Marine warehouse, emphasised how this launch will enhance the customer experience across different regions: “We are delighted to provide warehouse facilities and services in Shanghai for Shakespeare Marine’s leading antennas. This will hugely benefit customers to ensure the Asia and Australasian markets receive products more quickly, efficiently and sustainably.

“We have been working with Shakespeare Marine for over 20 years and look forward to our new chapter, strengthening our cooperation and broadening our business scope.”

The new distribution warehouse will initially store its bestselling products, including industry-leading VHF, AIS, HDTV maritime antennas, the brand’s QuickConnectTM range and heavy-duty stainless-steel mounts.

This will further include Shakespeare Marine’s 5912-DORSAL VHF antenna, the V-Tronix Fibreglass VHF antenna and the Classic VHF antenna.

Shakespeare Marine European sales manager Dave Manasseh added: “The launch of our new Chinese distribution hub marks a pivotal point of growth for the brand.

“We are confident this new milestone will provide improved logistics, faster delivery times and cost savings for the region in response to the success we’ve seen across the Asia and Australasian markets. This expansion also offers exciting prospects for Shakespeare Marine, our distributor partners and customers and is another positive step to improve our carbon footprint.”
