Chile-based SAAM has finalised an order with Cargotec subsidiary Kalmar for the delivery of 16 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors for its Chile and Ecuador terminals.
The delivery of the tractors is scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
Five of the tractors will be used at SAAM’s Guayaquil terminal in Ecuador, while the remaining 11 will be employed at San Antonio Terminal Internacional in Chile.
The Kalmar Ottawa T2 Terminal Tractor is available in DOT/EPA-certified and off-road configurations and features an ergonomic cabin, easy-to-access service points and fast fifth-wheel lifting, which helps to improve maintenance and checks.
The tractors will feature Kalmar Insight performance management tool that will enable the SAAM team to obtain data, including fuel consumption, running hours, production and idle time and other important operational indicators in real time.
The information will be helpful in monitoring performance, use of equipment, scheduled maintenance work and ensuring improved operations.
