Finland-based Cargotec unit MacGregor has entered an agreement to provide its MacGregor Onboard Care (MOC) service to German shipping company Peter Döhle Schiffahrts Group's fleet of 70 vessels.
Under the three-year deal, MacGregor will annually inspect the deck machinery, steering gear and cranes on the Peter Döhle Schiffahrts vessels.
In addition, around 100 inspections will be carried out on MacGregor-delivered equipment, including cranes, as well as Hatlapa steering gear and deck machinery.
MacGregor global lifecycle support senior vice-president John Carnall said: "Our commitment is to provide the operative availability of equipment and ensure sustainable ship operations and earning capabilities for these vessels.
"MacGregor's ability to seamlessly offer a service contract that covers a range of equipment brands delivers additional benefits to the customer, particularly in this difficult market situation.
“It means that the customer does not have to sign up to more contracts than is necessary, reducing administration and in all likelihood, reducing costs."
