Eastern Shipbuilding Group is set to build four new Z-Tech 2400-class terminal and escort tugs.
The tugs will be constructed along with support from Suderman & Young Towing Company and Bay Houston Towing Company at Eastern’s facilities located in Panama City and Florida, US.
Canada-based Robert Allan (RAL) will provide design and engineering for the Z-Tech tugs.
During the engineering, construction and delivery phases of these contracts, G & H Towing Company will offer on-site representation for both owners as the joint agent.
Eastern noted that G & H Towing will operate each vessel at delivery. G & H operates a fleet of around 30 harbour tugs, including harbour tugs in the largest ports in the US Gulf Coast with operations in Houston, Galveston, Texas City, Corpus Christi and Freeport.
Currently, G & H Towing operates eight Z-Tech tugs, which incorporate the latest technology for escort service and ship assist.
