Offshore marine services provider Bourbon has received its 500th vessel, Bourbon Evolution 806, placing it among the groups with the largest fleet of offshore vessels owned or on bareboat charter in the world.
The Bourbon Evolution 806 is the sixth vessel of the first series of inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) vessels for the offshore industry.
With this delivery, Bourbon currently has six Evolution vessels in operation with an additional four under construction.
The vessels are said to have desired manoeuvrability and incorporate a class-3 dynamic positioning system and back-up equipment that ensures safety.
Bourbon COO Gael Bodénès said: “We are delighted with the delivery of this 500th vessel, which reflects our commitment to provide the means to continue our development and to best serve the needs of our clients.”
The company now operates a fleet of 500 vessels worldwide, averaging 6.3 years of age, including Bourbon Liberty, Bourbon Evolution 800, seismic support vessel and Bourbon Explorer 500 models.
