Marlink, a provider of business-critical IT solutions, has acquired Port-IT, a maritime cyber security specialist.
This move comes as the maritime industry faces an increase in cyber threats and a shift towards mandatory global and regional cyber security regulations.
Port-IT is known for its advanced cybersecurity solutions. The acquisition complements Marlink’s recent addition of Diverto, enhancing its professional and managed services in cyber security.
Located in Rhoon, Netherlands, Port-IT is positioned near major ports and provides round-the-clock support to a fleet of 7,000 vessels through its Security Operations Centres in Rhoon and Bangkok.
Marlink Group will establish a dedicated cyber security unit, merging the expertise of Port-IT, Diverto, and its own cyber security operations. This unit will consist of 130 experts with renowned certifications and experience across various sectors, supported by four Security Operations Centres globally.
Marlink Group’s ambition is to be the go-to cyber security partner for companies operating in remote or critical infrastructure environments.
