Malaysian offshore support vessel, called Dayang Topaz, crashed into a rig operated by state oil company Petronas off Sarawak on Borneo island, killing two crew members.
The vessel crashed into the Baram B oil platform when its anchor cable broke as a result of bad weather, according to Petronas and marine authorities.

The offshore support vessel had 187 crew onboard when the accident occurred. Approximately 125 crew members jumped into the sea when the vessel hit the platform 7.7 nautical miles (14.3 km) offshore, reported Reuters.
With the exception of the two deceased, all the others were rescued.
According to the country’s marine department, the scope of the damage is yet to be determined although no marine pollution has been reported.
The offshore rig is operated by Petronas Carigali, which is the oil exploration unit of Petronas.
