By GlobalDataWith the capacity to accommodate 25 crew members each, the vessels can sail at a speed of nearly 14.5 knots.
The Beltrader and Belguardian have been classified by the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (LR) and registered in Panama.
They feature a flush deck with a forecastle and five holds to support the transportation of grain, coal, ores and steel products.
Four 30t deck cranes are located along the centre of the vessels, in between the hatch covers, for the loading and unloading of cargo in ports that lack cargo handling facilities.
The company stated that these ships are loaded with several technologies that enhance fuel economy as well as providing enhanced propulsion performance.
These include an energy-saving, electronically-controlled main diesel engine, a bow designed to minimise wave resistance, and high propulsive efficiency propellers.
The vessels also feature the Kawasaki rudder bulb system with fins (RBS-F), as well as a semi-duct system with contra fins (SDS-F).
Recently, KHI also delivered a bulk carrier, named Sabrina Fair, for the Hawk Marine Corporation.
With a capacity of 61,000dwt, Sabrina Fair is 199.9m long, 32.24m wide, 18.6m deep and features a moulded draft of 13m.
