Monaco-based owner and operator of LNG carriers GasLog has selected SQLearn to provide e-learning services for its vessels.
Under the contract, SQLearn will provide the services from its Dolphin Platforms for GasLog’s fleet of 27 ships.
SQLearn’s Dolphin Library, which forms part of Dolphin Platforms, provides interactive e-learning courses, offering training material to meet requirements of the shipping companies.
Based on STCW topics, the e-learning courses cover national, international and flag requirements.
Designed as a web-based e-learning system, Dolphin System has been specifically created to meet the needs of the shipping industry. It is provided through a hardware solution for on-board training.
GasLog competency assurance manager Archontia Leni said: “Through our strategic cooperation with SQLearn, and its innovative suite of e-learning products and services, we are able to provide our crew with specialised training, while at the same time we can manage all e-learning activities onboard and ashore.”
SQLearn CEO Spyros Goumas said: “Through our e-learning courses, seafarers’ training becomes effective and user-friendly, incorporating flexible, interactive and reflective learning techniques.
“Our cooperation with GasLog is greatly appreciated and we look forward to continuing it.”

During the same month, Belgium-based tanker company Euronav also selected SQLearn’s e-learning courses from its Dolphin Library and Dolphin System for its 52 vessels.
