MINSHIP has selected DNV GL’s software solution for its dry cargo vessels to digitise its fleet-management activities.
MINSHIP will use the ShipManager solution to replace its existing systems and spreadsheets with an integrated fleet management solution.
MINSHIP expects to improve transparency and be able to streamline processes and operations with the digitisation of fleet management.
The software can also be used for technical management, procurement, hull integrity management, dry-docking, ship repair and others.
CMA CGM Group has signed a memorandum of agreement for operation of the future container terminal of the port with Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise (LPLE).
Scheduled for completion by 2020, the port will be operated by LPLE, a joint venture of Tolaram Group, Lagos State Government, and Nigerian Ports Authority.

By GlobalDataLPLE is also the promoter of Nigeria’s Lekki Deep Sea Port and CMA Terminals, a subsidiary of CMA CGM. It will oversee the marketing, operations, and maintenance of the Lekki Deep Sea Port’s container terminal.
The new container terminal will serve as a transhipment hub and will also enable the company to expand its footprint into the consumer market of West Africa.
The terminal will have a 1,200m-long quay and 13 quay cranes and the capacity to handle 2.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
Peel Ports Group has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ASV Global to incorporate autonomous vessel technology at UK ports.
Based in the UK, Peel Ports Group handles port operations, whereas ASV Global is a provider of unmanned and autonomous marine systems.
ASV has deployed its autonomous vessel C-Cat-3 at Port of Liverpool in order to conduct seabed survey using a Norbit iWBMS multibeam echosounder.

The Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, in association with the European Green Capital of Nijmegen, various government bodies, port authorities, logistics companies and shippers, has initiated the Declaration of Nijmegen.
The new declaration aims to cut CO2 emissions from inland shipping sector by 20% more than the next 12 years.
The new deal will enable the sector to reduce its CO2 emissions from 2.1t to 1.7t a year by 2030.
