The European arm of Chinese shipping firm COSCO is launching a “digital end-to-end supply chain solution” for cargo travelling from Europe to China.
The new tool, called “For For Tune”, will be accessed via COSCO’s existing digital platform SynCon. It will create a “yard to door in one” product, allowing customers to book shipping space and inland transport within China in one place.
“‘For For Tune’ is designed as a full process supply chain logistics solution, which also features a one-stop customer service to handle various node matters and accompany the customer and their goods throughout the entire process,” the company’s Hamburg-based subsidiary explained in a statement.
COSCO explained “advanced digital technology” will be used to allow customers to track their goods in real-time, including through online visualisation tools.
The tool will be open to general cargo, with frozen, fresh, and dangerous goods excluded.
It will run for Full Container Load (FLC) transportation only. Self-owned containers are also excluded.
