Vard has received an order to design and build a new research expedition vessel (REV) for Rosellinis Four-10, which is currently owned by Norwegian industrialist Kjell Inge Røkke and his family.
Vard Design will collaborate with Røkke and designer Espen Øino to construct the 182m vessel.
The company will build the REV's hull at its Tulcea yard in Romania and is expected to incorporate the VARD 6 16 design, which has been optimised for maximum performance even in the most challenging and vulnerable environments.
The new REV is expected to enter service by 2020.
Denmark’s Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) and Germany's Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) have signed a common agreement on the safety standards for the carriage of passengers in Flensborg Fjord.
The deal defines the safety standards to be maintained on the passenger vessels and ferries, as well as the inclusion of lifejackets, life rafts and other necessary fire safety equipments onboard.
