Vard has won a contract from Coral Expeditions to design and build a new expedition cruise vessel for operations in the Asia-Pacific region.

The ship is set to be 93.5m-long and 17.2m-wide, and will accommodate around 120 passengers.

The ship will have Green star 3 Design with ‘COMF-NOISE A PAX’ and ‘COMF-NOISE B CREW’ notations, and is expected to feature small-ship characteristics and all-suite accommodations.

Wärtsilä has been selected by a consortium comprising Belgium-based Victrol and French company CFT known as LNG Shipping to supply a 3,000m³ cargo handling system and cargo tanks for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge.

Wärtsilä is also expected to arrange the cargo on-board the vessel as part of the contract.

The LNG bunker barge is currently under construction in Romania and will be outfitted in the Netherlands.

It is slated to be chartered to Shell Western LNG (Shell) and will operate out of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
