Tanger Alliance container terminal at Tanger Med in Morocco has implemented the Portchain Berth Optimisation Engine to improve berth planning and allow clients to monitor berth status in real time.
This solution enables optimised resource allocation and digitises the planning procedure, stated Portchain.
As an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered optimisation software, Portchain’s Berth Optimisation Engine guides planning staff by automating resource allocation for all ships simultaneously.
This enables planning staff to draft an optimal plan for improving capacity or minimising operational costs.
In addition, the software aids planning staff in assessing diverse scenarios and their key performance indicators to pick the ‘most cost-effective plan’ and respond quickly to new customer information.
Portchain CCO Thor Thorup said: “We are proud to be a part of Tanger Alliance’s digitisation journey and to have supported them from terminal go-live. We are excited to help Tanger Alliance realise their plans to optimise their operations and provide a better customer experience.”
