Damen will supply the tugs in the third quarter of this year.
Engage Marine will deploy the tugs to provide towage services for the Port of Abbot Point.
This comes after Engage Marine recently received a non-exclusive towage licence from North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation.
As one of its next generations tugs series, Damen claims the tugs will feature proven technologies and innovations for sustainability, efficiency and safety.
With nearly 85 tonnes of bollard pull, the ASD Tug 3212 will provide seakeeping services and improved manoeuvrability.

In February, Damen Shipyard signed an alliance agreement with US-based Sea Machines Robotics to further examine the implementation of collision avoidance functionality on-board Damen vessels.
