Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) subsidiaries Keppel FELS and Keppel Shipyard have won contracts worth S$130m ($95.5m) from repeat customers for a new dredger and the modification of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

A contract between Keppel FELS and Dutch maritime contracting company Van Oord involves the construction of a trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD).

Van Oord was granted an option for a third dredger based on earlier contracts entered in May 2018 for two similar dredgers.

The TSHD is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022 and will have a hopper capacity of 10,500m³.

The LNG-ready dredger will be built to the requirements of Bureau Veritas (BV) classification society and certified with the BV Green Passport and Clean Ship notations.

The TSHD will feature a climate control system, which will use the vessel’s cooling and heating sources to recycle energy.

The dredger will also include automation systems that send production data to the shore support centre for processing.

A contract between Keppel Shipyard and Yinson Nepeta Production, a subsidiary of Singapore firm Yinson Production (Yinson), involves the fast-track modification and upgrading of FPSO Allan.

Scope of work includes refurbishment and life extension works, fabrication and installation of a new riser balcony, spread mooring system and helideck, as well as modifications of the vessel’s topsides and marine systems.

The project is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2019 and delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2020.

With a storage capacity of 700,000 barrels of oil and a processing capacity of 60,000 barrels of oil per day, the FPSO will be deployed in the Anyala and Madu fields, offshore Nigeria for First Exploration and Petroleum Development.

Keppel Corporation said that the contracts would not have any material impact on the net tangible assets or earnings per share for the current financial year.
