Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA) is set to collaborate with Esri, local distributor Hnit-Baltic, and Saab’s subsidiary Quality Positioning Services (QPS) for the implementation of a new seabed database and nautical cartography system.

LTSA has selected Esri to strengthen nautical charting and bathymetry capabilities.

LTSA is already using Esri’s ArcGIS platform and plans to use the company’s technology to improve maritime information production to meet the International Hydrographic Organization and national standards.

Leveraging ArcGIS Enterprise, the company will be able to upgrade the automation of its existing system and increase the productivity of electronic navigational charts, paper nautical charts, and small craft charts.

Esri’s data management capabilities will also be used to share hydrographic information across industry sectors to improve maritime-related economic growth.

Using Esri’s technology, LTSA can serve the community through the preparation of maritime maps and charts and also provide data in support of environmental, economic, and national security interests.

Esri contracted with the Danish Geodata Agency (GST) in February to implement a new workflow to create and maintain nautical charts of Danish and Greenlandic waters.
