Algoma Tankers (ATL), an operating unit of marine transportation services provider Algoma Central (Algoma), has received the 16,500 DWT Algoterra, a product tanker in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The 2010 built product tanker has begun her delivery voyage to Canada.

It departed from Amsterdam on 30 March and will now take its journey through the English Channel before crossing the Atlantic Ocean and finally reaching Halifax.
The vessel is expected to commence trading in Canada by mid-April.
Algoma president and CEO Gregg Ruhl said: “I am pleased to say that our fleet is fully booked for the season.
“The Algoterra is the second product tanker acquired by ATL in the last four months after the Algonorth joined the fleet in early December. We are looking forward to bringing the Algoterra home and to having the Algonorth operate for her first full season with Algoma.”

Besides the Algoterra, the Algoma Conveyor, which is the newest seawaymax self-unloader of Algoma, is currently in the final days of the trans-Pacific journey to reach Canada. It will reach Balboa, Panama this week, from where it will undertake the Panama Canal journey to proceed to Canada.
The Algoma Conveyor will join the seven Equinox Class sister ships that are in operation for the 2019 navigation season.
Algoma owns and operates dry and liquid bulk carriers, which operate on the Great Lakes-St Lawrence Waterway.
