LPLE is also the promoter of Nigeria’s Lekki Deep Sea Port and CMA Terminals, a subsidiary of CMA CGM. It will oversee the marketing, operations, and maintenance of the Lekki Deep Sea Port’s container terminal.

The Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, in association with the European Green Capital of Nijmegen, various government bodies, port authorities, logistics companies and shippers, has initiated the Declaration of Nijmegen.

The new declaration aims to cut CO2 emissions from inland shipping sector by 20% more than the next 12 years.

The new deal will enable the sector to reduce its CO2 emissions from 2.1t to 1.7t a year by 2030.
