Ship and offshore classification society DNV GL has launched a new version of its Navigator Port 2 clearance software, with new usability features, intuitive structure and improved interface.
Formerly known as DNV Navigator, the newer maritime software was released after the merger of DNV and GL last year.
Navigator Port 2 features an improved interface, is more intuitive and efficient, with a work-orientated process for easy understanding and navigating within.
The new enhancements not only increase usability and save time in the actual port clearance process, but also require fewer resources for training new users and implementation.
DNV GL Navigator Port product manager Tom Fiksdalstrand said: “With today’s increasingly complex regulations, shipowners are realising that they cannot continue with their old manual systems for port clearance.”
Navigator Port helps reduce paperwork by up to 90%, enables simpler and faster ship-to-shore reporting, smoother port clearance, mitigates delays and possible penalties in connection with port calls and leads to safer navigation, according to customer feedback.
