Damen Marine Components (DMC) has opened a new facility in Jiangyin, China.
The new 11,000m² facility is nearly double the size of the current facility located in Suzhou, and will service Asia, the Middle East and the US west coast.
The facility will feature renewed production systems that include its own spinning systems for propeller nozzles besides grinding and sanding robots.
DMC said in a statement: “Jiangyin was chosen for its strategic position close to customers and the possibility for future expansion.”
DMC Jiangyin will produce propeller nozzles, rudders, special constructions and winches.
Additionally, the facility will enable DMC to expand its product portfolio with additional products such as hydraulic winches and thruster tunnels.

By GlobalDataThe DMC Suzhou facility began operations in 2005 and the search for a new location started in 2011 with a need for more production space owing to the increasing demands.
Currently, DMC produces propeller nozzles, bow thruster tunnels, rudder set, offshore structures (such as steel constructions of cranes and gantries), sterntubes, steel constructions of winches, slipway lorries, winches at the Suzhou facility.
The company delivers more than 800 nozzles every year for all requested propeller diameters that are compliant the regulations of all classification societies.
