Kongsberg’s Maritime division has been selected to design and deliver an integrated equipment package for six hybrid platform supply vessels (PSVs) for Dutch-Brazilian maritime group Compagnie Maritime Monegasque (CMM) in Brazil.
CMM achieved the top ranking in a Brazilian firm Petrobras’ tender for the construction of six large, multipurpose 5,000dwt PSVs.
This achievement paves the way for CMM to secure 12-year charter contracts from Petrobras for new vessels.
The 92m UT7420 ship design, part of Kongsberg’s latest UT design range, features cutting-edge technology, and hybrid propulsion systems.
CMM CEO Christophe Vancauwenbergh said: “Kongsberg Maritime’s innovative ship design is integral to achieving our vision for more efficient and sustainable offshore operations. Their expertise and Brazilian presence have been critical to the success of this bid, and we are optimistic about final confirmation of the tender.”
Featuring oil spill recovery capability, the vessels are planned to be built at the Enseada shipyard in Brazil.
